Road Trip!

Just got back from a road trip down to see my brother and his family. It was a long drive but worth it.

I went with my sister's family and my mom. The two kids were so good on the car ride. They didn't complain at all. While we were at Sam and Steph's, we spent some time with his family and did some retail therapy.

Sam's kids were under the weather and were coughing. I don't get to see them that often so I wasn't about to stay away from my nephews and niece.

On the last day of our stay, I caught the sore throat. :(. The drive home was hard on my body. I started to warm up and was woozy. I haven't been this sick in a very long time. I am literally bedridden because I'm so tired.

I practically lost my voice and two days later, I'm still not recovered. I hope to be better by Saturday for Francis' wedding.

Have you sent out your Mother's Day card yet?

Sent mine out this morning.  Last year, life got turned upside down and took a while for things to settle.  I did not send my mother a card.  :(  I know .. bad Pudgy!

This year, I bought a card and attempted to write my entire message in Chinese.  It was very personal and I even shed a tear or two when I wrote it.  I hope that it reads well and makes sense ... I learn a lot about composition when I read blog posts or facebook posts written in Chinese.  I have not mastered the art of it yet but I am learning ..

oh .. I have yet to blog about my Easter weekend in Toronto .. well, I have to hold off on it for a while.  But I will post one soon.

Countdown to Easter Weekend

Only a few more days and I will be home for Easter weekend.  It's been a while since I've been home and I soooo miss everyone - family and friends.  As usual, I'm booked to see a few folks during that weekend.  But I want to spend time with my family as I have not seen them since Chinese New Year.

I spent the day busy baking .. chocolate chip muffins for Amanda and vanilla cupcakes for Amelia, Anson, Aidan, and Chloe.  Hmm .. why did we give Chloe a non-A name??  :)

Because I work in a government town, I get Easter Monday off!  Yay .. extra long weekend for me.

After this visit, my next visit will be in May for a wedding.  If the entire lunch group attends, it will be the first time we all get together in a very long time.  I'm so tempted to bring my camera and shoot but if I'm wearing a dress and heels, it might not be a good idea.  I'll leave that up to the professionals.

Next on my list .. ugh .. I gotta get these winter tires off my car!  It's spring already.

Happy Birthday My Ma!

Today is my mom's birthday.  I really wish I could have been home for her birthday dinner but I have been really busy that this wasn't a good weekend to go home.  :(  I did call this morning to wish her a happy birthday .. I think she wanted me to make the drive home because I haven't been home since Chinese New Year.

Sigh ... :(  I'll see everyone in a few weeks though.  It will be three months since my last trip to Toronto.

Turning my hobby into a side job

After my first photo sale, I was "hired" to photograph a charity badminton tournament this summer.  It's a four day tournament featuring junior and senior players.  I'm so excited!  :) 

I know I never post samples of my work .. but tonight, I photographed the University of Ottawa Team Challenge.  Here are just a few pictures from that tournament.



These pictures are originals - no touching up.  I'm not skilled in Photoshop yet.  :P  There is a red glow in the pics because the vents are painted red and there is a lot of red detailing around the gym.
