Friend of mine sent me this article from the Wall Street Journal. I thought it was pretty interesting. Can any of my Asian friends relate to this???

Interesting story. Here's an interview with the author from today's Toronto Star - apparently the excerpt from the book was not representative of her current view.

Pudgy, January 17, 2011 at 5:21 PM: There is a lesson to be learned here. The author said that she wrote it in a moment of crisis. In hindsight, it wasn't a good idea as so many have now misinterpreted her book.

She's got WAY more publicity for her book by getting that outrageous excerpt into the WSJ with that outrageous title than she would have got otherwise. She "blames the article for most of the controversy" my ass - she's blaming the article all the way to the bank.

Here's what it says on the cover of her book:

She's one rung above a spammer.
